Cosplayer Definition at Ōta TOKYO
Ōta TOKYO welcomes cosplayers of all levels, from beginners to experienced creators.
For event operations and safety reasons, a cosplayer is defined as follows:
- A participant who is wearing a costume and/or wig that represents a specific character,
- whose appearance can reasonably be recognized as cosplay by the Ōta TOKYO staff.
→The final decision will be made by the event staff on-site.
Notes
- Casual outfits such as character T-shirts only or inspired fashion without costumes or wigs may not be recognized as cosplay.
- Simple or beginner-level cosplay is absolutely welcome.
- The key requirement is clear intent to portray a character, not costume quality or complexity.

Cosplay Parade – Walk the Festival Together
We provide a cosplayer-only backstage area behind the stage, so you can prepare with peace of mind.
What’s available:
- Private changing rooms for cosplayers
- Secure luggage & prop storage
- Complimentary food & drinks
(One set per cosplayer)

Join the Cosplay Parade, one of the most memorable moments of Ōta TOKYO.
Parade Route:
- Starts in front of the Green Creator Area
- Circles the entire venue
- Ends on the Hall 1 Main Stage
We’ll take a group photo on stage at the end. Let’s turn this walk into a once-in-a-lifetime memory.
Posing Workshop by a World-Class Cosplayer
Learn directly from the Grand Champion of World Cosplay Summit 2024.
Parade Route:
- 10 minutes per session
Fee: 99 INR- Professionally photographed by an official photographer
Available Time Slots Only:
- 12:00 – 13:30
- 18:00 – 19:30

Pre-Judged Competition
Participation in the Cosplay Contest is by pre-selection only.
All applications are reviewed in advance, and only selected participants will be allowed to compete on stage.
Everyone Is Welcome to the Runway
After all contest performances are completed, there will be a group runway walk for all cosplayers.
This runway takes place while the judges are deliberating.
Even if you were not selected for the contest, we warmly invite you to stay until the end and join the runway to celebrate cosplay together.
For Contestant
If you are participating in the Cosplay Contest, please make sure to:
- Pick up your performer neck pass
- Location: Next to the Cosplay Stage
- Timing: Before your performance
This pass is required for stage and backstage access.
Contest Schedule & Backstage Call Time
Please carefully check your category and arrive on time.
- Duo Category: 16:30（Meeting Time→16:00）
- Solo Category: 18:00（Meeting Time→17:30）
All contestants must be backstage and ready at least 30 minutes before their scheduled start time.
This ensures smooth stage flow and proper coordination.
